About

Hi there!

I'm SweetKeight and I'm so glad you're here! Nice to 'meet' you!

I work in Outreach for a small theatre company and I've always loved acting as a hobby. I've been married close to 5 years now. Recently, my dear husband (DH) and I started trying to conceive (TTC.) After a miscarriage and some tests, we discovered that conception, for us, was not going to be a walk in the park.

Theatre and TTC have a lot in common, but the biggest of them all is WAITING! In theatre, when one auditions for a role, one usually has to wait awhile to hear back about casting. And in TTC, the wait after fertilization is about two weeks. After a few cycles of driving myself insane with obsession and anxiety during the dreaded two week wait (TWW), I got the idea to make a list of all the things that I can do/use/try to distract myself from obsessing about whether or not I'm going to see two lines on that test. And, since I'm listing, why not share that list with other waiting folk?

So, here is the list, in blog form. Each blog post will be an activity. I call each activity a two week wait distraction, or TWWD, for short. As a typical type-A personality, I love lists and charts and organizing. (I call it my A-magic!) I've done my A-magic on each TWWD, ranking them, scaling them, and offering my best thoughts for how to share them and use them to engage with friends/online communities. Check out the 'TWWD Manifesto' for information about why I believe engaging and sharing is best. And check out the 'Ranks & Scales' page to get a legend for the ranking of each TWWD.

Again, I'm just tickled you're here - Welcome! I hope you find the TWWD's useful and I hope you'll comment and send suggestions. In the meantime, I wish you lots of luck and broken legs (theatre) and baby dust!

Sincerely,

SweetKeight
